Plastic is nothing more than a group of elements and molecules joined together which are generally synthetic, this was an industry revolution for mankind, since it began at the end of 19th century, Leo Hendrik, a chemist, was the one who created the first synthetic plastic and marked the beginning of the « plastic era ».
That plastic era tells us it was also a time when oil was excessively exploited since the vast majority of plastics are made with oil and synthetic materials.
There are also plastics derived from starch, cellulose and specific bacteria. However, plastic has now become a huge problem since the market is saturating this material and plastics are created (some more resistants than others) but with the same disposal place : the ocean.
Plastic excessive consumption is irresponsible since this material’s exaggerated use is not so necessary, also people do not think about the consequences and what this can cause to the ecosystem when the throw it away.
Plastic generates a primary type of pollution, leaving a toxic footprint on the planet.
Plastic Pollution Or Contamination
Throughout the years, our mothers reminds us to change the water in our bottle, but why do they tell us this ? well, studies have shown that plastics can cause changes in the water, including changes in the taste and if the bottles are made with chlorinated plastics, they can release harmful chemicals for human consumption, the animals and the soil, this water can also be filtered to other water sources, causing serious damages to the species that consume it.
Additionally, the accumulation of plastic products in the environment causes wildlife contamination. Many animals get stuck in bottles, in small plastic parts or even this material is introduced into their bodies affecting them, the habitat and human consumption.
Garbage
The saddest thing of the matter is that all plastic ends up becoming a big pile of waste, because as aforementioned, the material irresponsible use and its manufacturing method, end up being useless for many, although there is the possibility of recycling or reuse them.
When plastic is thrown into the ocean, it turns into inorganic waste that do not degrade easily because in the industries, this material is worked with different chemical and artificial processes.
¡You can consume in a responsible way so you do not affect the marine ecosystem and mankind !
